Tree-filled planter plots line my block. One day, I notice that one planter, which is on the same side of the street as my apartment, is filled with sliced bread. I think nothing of this. One evening, I am coming home late at night and notice more bread in the planter. Another day, I see some chips scattered in the dirt and begin to wonder what's happening. There's lots of ignoreable trash everywhere in New York but this dumping feels intentional and mysterious. I start to document the bread and snacks left in the planter.

One day, I see pigeons and other birds eating bread out of the planter and I realize that these snacks are being left there for the birds. The mystery is solved and I lose my desire to take these photos.
